Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I am able to share my life with anyone who finds it as interesting as I do; welcome to “That Rookie Girl”. I created this blog in the middle of 2013 with the intent to share my life with others while also being able to make friends with those who have similar interests and views as I do, or to at least meet people and make a few friends; both, in my opinion, have been accomplished and continue to be achieved. I absolutely love blogging but this is the first time where I have actually taken it seriously… I love it though and I am quite proud of the fact that I take the time to frequently update it, not that it is too hard to do considering this is an addictive website. I hope to continue to blog for a really long time because it is actually therapeutic for me in several ways and because I actually enjoy it; it is therapeutic because I am able to organize my life a little bit more, and because I am able to express my feelings through pictures, writing, etc. Well, my name is Amber, and my life is brilliant. I am so happy and I love the feeling of being alive. I love my life and I am extremely blessed to have a great family, fantastic friends, a wonderful job, and constant support in all that I aspire to do; Heavenly Father sure has blessed me with a lot. I, honestly, am beyond grateful for everything that I have ever been through, the good times and the not so good times, because it has made me a better person than I could have ever imagined. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am very strong in my faith and beliefs, and I strive to be a better role model each and every day; I want to be the person that someone can look up to one day and they will know that I never strayed from following the Commandments, and every move I made was to be a better and stronger individual. I would consider myself to be both Mormon and Catholic because I was raised with a mom who is Mormon and a father who is Catholic; I strongly believe in both churches, and it is probably unconventional but it's how I am. I love my family more than anything and I would do anything for them; my family is everything to me and I would die for them in a heartbeat.
I am currently a sophomore in College with a major in Criminal Justice; however, once I finish my Associate of Arts degree (A.A.), I plan to attend The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, Class of 2018. My career is extremely important to me, but to me it really isn’t a career because it is something that I love so very much. I aspire to be an Officer in the United States Marine Corps with the MOS -- 5803 (Military Police Officer), but hopefully I have many opportunities, once in the Marine Corps, to take on many roles and leadership positions. The Marine Corps means so much to me and I hope to one day earn the title of Marine and walk amongst the ranks of warriors. Once I am no longer active duty, I aspire to be a Police Officer either in Oakland or Los Angeles, but Law Enforcement is a huge aspect of my life and it is something that I love and enjoy. In the very far future, I hope to be federal law enforcement or with one of the intelligence agencies. Serving my country and community is something that has always been extremely important to me, from the time I was a child, I knew that my life was going to be in service of my country; I pray that I am able to make a significant difference, save lives, protect lives, and make this world a safer and better place for all. Education is also something that is very important to me and I hope to have many degrees one day, so that when I have children I am able to stress to them how important an education truly is, just like my parents have done for me.
I am extremely firm in my beliefs, values, opinions, and faith. However, I also take the time to listen to what others have to say, but at the end of the day I am firm in what I believe in. I believe we all have a purpose in life and if each individual realized this about themselves, we would have less lives being destroyed and more lives being saved; Heavenly Father put us here for a reason. I live my life to the fullest and I do not partake in anything that I find to be wrong and harmful to the mind and body; I absolutely cannot stand any type of alcoholic beverages, drugs, tobacco, or anything that you smoke. I have never engaged in this type of behavior and I find it to be disgusting and ridiculous. I have not and do not agree with engaging in any type of sexual behavior until marriage; I do not believe in premarital sex at all. I know in my heart that our Heavenly Father gave us Commandments to live by for a reason, but I also know that as a person it is important to live life in a good and positive way, which is why I will always follow what my heart says and I will never engage in these types of behaviors, nor will I allow myself to be around those who do these types of things. I am a Republican and Conservative; I hold very traditional values. I believe in being happy and living life to the fullest and I firmly believe in having a positive outlook on everything, the reason I believe this is because each one of us has been given our own destiny to make the changes that better our lives and ourselves. I believe in having values, beliefs, loyalty, honesty, virtue, faith, patriotism, honor, a sense of duty, and integrity; I believe these are extremely important qualities to possess. I live my life with honor and I couldn’t imagine living any other way.
I live an active lifestyle and I absolutely love being outdoors. I enjoy swimming deep in the ocean, hiking trails that the rest of the world is oblivious to, and going on road trips with nothing but the wind in my hair; I own a 1971 Mustang and one day I am going to go on a long road trip across the United States, but currently I live on a pretty little (actually quite big) island. I enjoy the gym, boxing, martial arts, cheerleading, and eating healthy; I believe it is important to keep ourselves healthy and in tip-top condition. I love the sunshine and the heat on my skin, but I also enjoy making snow angels in the snow and the feeling of being in a winter wonderland. I like to be adventurous and travel; however, home is where the heart is. I enjoy fixing cars, cooking and baking, and being around people that make me laugh uncontrollably; fortunately, I have been blessed with those people.
I can’t wait to see what my future has in-store for me. I can’t wait to one day fall in love, get married, and have a bunch of children. I am still waiting for that one special guy who only comes around once, maybe twice in a lifetime. I know that he is out there somewhere and one day we’ll meet. I believe in true love because I have seen it and I know that patience is key.
I enjoy talking to people, I can talk A LOT, but I also can listen really well too. I am always free to talk and I will help anyone in need of assistance. I enjoy making friends, so talk to me! :)
